2022 Chevrolet Malibu Features, Price, Specs, Interior, Colors
Although the sedan market has waned in the recent past, several automakers continue to offer appealing family-friendly cars to buyers.
One such automaker is Chevrolet, an American brand that includes the capable and stylish Malibu in its lineup.
The Malibu continues to get better with upgraded features, a more powerful engine, and eye-catching exterior styling. This guide breaks down the 2022 Chevrolet Malibu to help you decide if it’s the right model for your lifestyle.
The 2022 Chevrolet Malibu starts at $23,400. It’s an affordable new model that costs less than many of its competitors in the midsize sedan segment. Chevrolet offers this sedan in four trim levels, and the difference between the base MSRP and the top trim level is approximately $10,000. If you want more features, one of the higher trim levels may include the options you desire.
Chevrolet offers extended warranty coverage on new Malibu models. The sedan includes a three-year/36,000-mile limited bumper-to-bumper warranty and a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty. An extended warranty is available at the time of purchase. Buyers also receive coverage against corrosion and roadside assistance for the first few years. The first scheduled maintenance visit is complimentary.
Safety & Tech Features
Every 2022 Chevrolet Malibu comes well-equipped with safety and tech features, and additional options are available on the higher trims. With the base trim, standard safety equipment includes ten air bags throughout the cabin, a rearview camera, electronic stability control with traction control, a tire pressure monitoring system, and Teen Driver settings.
The Driver Confidence I & II package bundles rear parking sensors, lane-change alert with side blind-zone alert, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, lane departure warning with lane-keep assist, and forward-collision alert with automatic braking. Some trim levels are available with the Enhanced Driver Confidence package, which tacks on adaptive cruise control and a following distance indicator.
Standard tech features on the base LS trim include a six-speaker audio system with an 8-inch touch screen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration with wireless connectivity, and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hot spot.
The LT Trim adds satellite radio with a complimentary subscription for the first few months. With the top Premier trim, upgraded tech features include an enhanced touch screen with an updated version of Chevy’s infotainment system, integrated navigation, a nine-speaker premium sound system, and wireless device charging.
As mentioned, Chevrolet offers the Malibu in four well-equipped trim levels. The automaker dropped the L trim, which was previously the base trim level available. The four trims are LS, RS, LT, and Premier.
