Let’s talk goals. Engineering goals. To get the available 2.7L Turbo High-Output engine just right, it had to deliver twofold: maximize responsiveness and provide diesel-like, low-end torque. The gist? Next-level performance and near-instant turbo boost. It’s exactly the capability you demand – right when you need it most.
FULLY FORGED BOTTOM END
Heavy-duty durability starts with a strong foundation. The engine has a fully forged-steel bottom end, starting with a stiff forged-steel crankshaft and supported by forged-steel main bearing caps.
Drive modes
Off-Road: Offers more traction on loose surfaces like grass, mud, gravel or deep snow.
Terrain: Perfect for tackling steep hills or crawling over obstacles. Can also automatically apply the brakes for enhanced climbing control.
Baja: Exclusive to ZR2, this mode optimizes power delivery, stability and traction control when driving over sandy terrain.
Available Tow/Haul: If equipped, optimizes performance when towing or hauling a heavy load.
Normal: The default mode that optimizes performance for your everyday drive.
