  • Overview

Chevrolet has done it again! The beloved full-size Chevy Silverado 1500 is back with a fresh identity that keeps you on your toes. The Silverado has already made quite the name for itself since its first appearance as a trim in 1975. In fact, just a couple of years ago, the Chevy Silverado got a makeover that added to its competitive edge in the half-ton truck sphere, competing against the likes of Ford-150 and the Ram 1500, among others. Today, the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 is proving that Chevy is not a brand to be trifled with when it comes to their trucks.

Despite the stiff competition, the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado remains a top choice for obvious reasons! The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 is bigger, smarter, and more hardworking than ever before. The interior comfort level is improved, with the upgraded trim levels providing all of the creature comforts you're looking for on top of the powerhouse under the hood. The 2021 Silverado 1500, overall, proves to be a nice balance between smooth and powerful. Updated towing capacity and a fresh multi-flex tailgate are among the top features added, but hardly the least!

There are many reasons to love the Chevy Silverado as Chevy has built a reputation of making their full-size trucks both safe and technologically innovative. Chevrolet is all about pushing the limits when it comes to the world of pickup trucks. Some of the most impressive features of the 2021 Silverado lie under the hood, though.

    Under the Hood

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 offers five engine options spanning across the eight available trims. The engine options available to you include the 4.3L V6 packing 285 hp and 305 lb-ft. The 2.7L turbo will net you 310 hp with 348 lb-ft of torque. Kicking up the power a little bit more is the 5.3L V8 with 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. At the top of the power scale is the 6.2L V8 producing 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. If you prefer a diesel engine over gas, Chevy delivers a 3.0L turbo-diesel engine producing 277 hp with 460 lb-ft of torque.

So Which Engine Should You Choose?

The engine you should choose all depends on what kind of power you need in order to get your work done. Should you opt for a basic work truck, the base 4.3L V6 engine should suit you fine. The more robust 5.3-liter V8 provides an extra boost of power if you need a little more than the base engine provides. The turbocharged 2.7-liter, while just a 4-cylinder engine, is a big engine and enough to make the Silverado feel playful, and can still tow up to 9,300 lbs.

If you want to have the most power and towing capacity possible with this truck, you should opt for a trim with the 6.2L V8. The 3.0-liter turbo-diesel has the best fuel economy of the bunch, so if you want to save a little at the pump, it will be the best choice. Regardless of the engine you select, the 2021 Silverado 1500 packs a punch. This truck is built to meet your needs for work and your excitement for adventure.

    Towing Power

Are you looking to accomplish some heavy-duty towing? Another feature of the 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 is the improved towing power. The weakest engine for towing in the lineup is the 4.3L, with a max capacity of 7,900 lbs. The 2021 Silverado's 2.7L turbocharged engine increases its maximum towing capacity to 9,300 lbs, while the 3.0-liter diesel achieves a max towing of 9,500 lbs. If you need a bit more towing power, opt for the 5.3L V8, with a max of 11,500 lbs, or the 6.2L V8 engine that offers the Silverado's maximum 13,500 lbs of towing capacity.

  • Exterior

Chevy has molded an attractive frame around the 2021 Silverado 1500's abundant horsepower. The 2021 Silverado's look is distinctive with a bold front featuring strong lines, notches built into the taillights, and headlight edges. This model features a large grill and split headlights that are sure to stand out in a crowd. Mosaic Black Metallic, Oxford Brown Metallic, and Cherry Red Tintcoat are three colors featured for the 2021 Silverado that will also serve to get you that wow factor.

    Trims

The 2021 Silverado has eight trim levels available. The WT (Work Truck), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and the High Country are your starting points to building your perfect truck. Powertrain rear-wheel drive and 4-wheel drive options are standard across trim levels with regular, double cab, crew cab, and three bed lengths. Also, Adaptive Ride Control and 22-inch wheels to improve ride comfort are now available on the High Country trim line.

    Multi-Flex Tailgate

The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 also includes the anticipated Multi-Flex tailgate. The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 is one of the few trucks of its kind to offer a tailgate that acts as a stepladder and workbench, among other functions! The six-function Multi-Flex Tailgate includes a standing desk area, fencelike features that keep long objects from slipping out from the open tailgate, an easy-access option for items deep in the bed, and a step option. The keyfob or two buttons on the tailgate can activate these features. When partnered with Chevy's standard Durabed feature, the tailgate affords you with access to 12 fixed tie-downs, a 120-volt outlet, and LED lights mounted to the rear.

  • Interior

The brown and black interior of a 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 is shown.

Chevy never fails to disappoint on comfort, technical innovation, and space within. With an array of different cameras to promote safety, smartphone connectivity, and a stylish interior, the Silverado is everything you need and more. You won't be disappointed with how this truck feels.

The Silverado 1500 is designed as a sturdy cabin with lots of sharp lines and angles. The 2021 model features split-bench seats, controls mounted on the steering wheel. The 2021 Silverado 1500 also features a standard power lock and release tailgate, LED bed lighting, and remote starting on Custom and Custom Trail Boss trim levels.

    Infotainment

The 7" or 8" (depending on your trim level) infotainment screen provides easy access to all the Silverado's amazing features. While only an optional upgrade for the LT, LT Trail Boss, and RST trim levels, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come standard on LTZ and High Country models to ensure that you stay entertained wherever you go. The infotainment system also provides you easy access to all of the camera features around the vehicle.

Making the Road A Little Safer

The 2021 Chevy Silverado 1500 features a safety system with an automatic emergency braking in the base WT trim and only improves itself from there. Chevy knows that the most essential features in a vehicle are those that keep you safe. That's why they included such standard features as dual-stage front airbags, head-curtain side-impact airbags, a Passenger Sensing System, StabiliTrak with rollover reduction for stability control, trailer sway control, hill-start assist, and a rear-vision camera. The base WT trim and up features the Safety Confidence Package with automatic emergency braking and forward-collision warning. Whether you're exploring brand new territory or just cruising the block, you receive the top features available to ensure that your ride is just as safe as it is powerful!

    Making Trailering Easier

The 2021 Silverado offers an advanced trailering system designed to help make towing and parking with a trailer easier. The camera-based trailering technology known as Jack-Knife Alert warns drivers if the trailer is going to jack-knife. A Trailer Lenght Indicator creates a red indicator on the blindspot camera to show where the trailer would obstruct during a lane change. This model also offers the revolutionary transparent trailer feature that allows you to "see-through" a conventional box or camping trailer to what is behind you.

The 2021 Silverado allows similar assistance when connecting to a trailer with the Cargo Bed Zoom View, Bed Hitch Guidance, and Rear Top-Down View. The Rear Trailer View now contains guidelines with a Trailer-Angle Indicator and Rear Side View that can now be switched on when reversing. No matter the task, Chevy's got you covered so that you can work quickly, efficiently, and safely!
