2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Overview

Have you always dreamt of competing with a supercar? And does that dream appear out of reach because of its hefty price tag? Chevy now allows you to do just that with the 2023 Corvette Z06. While it boasts a six-figure price tag, this mid-engine Corvette is still much more affordable than many of its supercar competitors. Now, that doesn't stop the Corvette Z06 from more than holding its own on the track. Our team at Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Paris has taken a closer look at what this new two-door wonder offers you. View New Chevrolet Corvettes Corvette Z06’s Engine and Performance 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 The Chevy Corvette Z06 gets a growling 5.5-liter V-8 engine behind the driver that propels you from 0 to 60 mph in a remarkable 2.6 seconds. One reviewer likened the sound of this powerhouse to a “howl” that will “send shivers down the spines of bystanders.” The Z06 features an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The engine puts out an impressive 670 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. If you're considering buying this vehicle, you're probably an enthusiastic track racer or someone who likes to shift quickly off the line. We’re guessing that fuel economy probably isn't at the top of your list, at least not when you get behind the wheel of this Corvette. For the record, though, the Z06 achieves 12 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway. If track racing is your top priority, you’ll want to add the available data recording device. This nifty attribute lets you record your lap times and videos of your performance on the track. And judging by the Corvette Z06’s astonishing numbers, your laps will be completed with impressive times. This coupe rushes through a quarter mile in 10.5 seconds, reaching a speed of 131 mph. It takes a fleeting 15 seconds to hit 150 mph and 24 seconds to reach 170 mph. Chevy says the Corvette Z06 has a top speed of 189 mph. Corvette Z06’s Performance Packages As you'd expect from a supercar, the Z06 offers several performance packages unlocking high-end features, such as improved brakes and upgraded suspension. You can add carbon fiber elements on the exterior, including a spoiler and front splitter. Some packages allow you to add unique color combinations inside the cabin. Corvette Z06’s Interior Inside the cabin, Chevy has built the Z06 to stand out. With a square steering wheel and two supportive, comfortable seats, there's no mistaking the Corvette Z06 coupe for anything other than a high-speed sports car. You can upgrade the cockpit with leather upholstery and choose from eight design themes to give the cabin your unique twist. Behind the mid-sized engine, the Corvette Z06 has a decent-sized trunk for this car segment. There should be enough room at the rear to carry two sets of golf clubs or a similar amount of luggage. The maximum cargo storage space is around 13 cubic feet. Chevy Infotainment and Safety Tech This Chevy features an 8-inch infotainment screen that can be paired with one of two premium stereo options from Bose. The first is a 10-speaker unit, while the optional upgrade is a 14-speaker audio system that's sure to impress whether you're listening to music or podcasts. Other standard features include Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. Another helpful detail worth knowing about is monitoring your vehicle's behavior whenever someone else is behind the wheel, such as a valet or relative. The Corvette Z06 combines high-speed abilities with a range of safety equipment to help you stay safe. These features include blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, a multi-view camera system, and rear parking sensors. Chevy backs the Corvette Z06 with a three-year, 36,000-mile limited warranty and a five-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. These warranties are standard for most automakers, covering any defects in workmanship or malfunctioning parts. Corvette Z06’s Trims With a base starting price of around $108,000, the Corvette Z06 compares well to supercars from other brands with similar equipment. There are three trims on offer, which can push the price over $150,000. The trims available are 1LZ, 2LZ, and 3LZ. Many interior features remain the same across the three trims, but you can get trim-specific designs on the doors, infotainment screens, and other cabin parts. The three trims can be combined with various performance packages to build your unique Corvette, including standout exterior styling, high-performance ceramic brakes, or premium leather upholstery. Other Corvette Options Chevy has many options if you feel like giving up a touch of high performance to get your hands on a Corvette that's more practical for day-to-day driving. Chevy's standard Corvette also has a V-8 engine capable of putting out 490 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. The Corvette is available as a coupe or convertible, giving you the choice of a manually removable roof panel or a retractable roof. The standard Corvette has some options for the racetrack, including sculpted sports seats, a front axle lift, and a high-profile rear wing. Whether you want to know more about the Corvette Z06 or the standard Chevy Corvette, don't hesitate to contact us. Here at Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Paris, we'd be delighted to show you what the Corvette Z06 is capable of. How To Prepare Your Vehicle For Winter

Colder temperatures put your car under more strain, so it's important to take some key steps to get your vehicle ready for winter. Preparing your car for winter can reduce the risk of accidents on slippery surfaces, improve your vehicle's performance, and avoid excessive damage. At Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Paris, our professional auto technicians have put together some steps you should follow to ensure your vehicle is ready to handle the snow and ice. Don't hesitate to contact us if you want to know more about winterizing your vehicle. Schedule Car Maintenance Service Replace Your Windshield Wipers Image by Matthieu Gouiffes is licensed with Unsplash Windshield wipers are essential in winter because visibility can be poor. During a snowstorm or heavy rain, your wipers need to be at the top of their game to keep your windshield clear. However, wipers aren't built to last. They typically need changing after 12 months or so. If you haven't had your wipers changed in a while, the lead-up to winter is the perfect time to take care of this task. The cost won't be much, but you can make an enormous difference in your winter driving experience. While you're completing this task, check your wiper fluid as well. You may need to top it up so you don't run out at an inconvenient moment, like on the highway in the middle of a snowstorm. Change Your Tires During the worst winter months, getting your crossover or truck fitted with snow tires is a sensible idea. Snow tires provide added grip on icy and snowy roads, allowing you to drive more safely in challenging conditions. The only drawback to winter tires is that they reduce your vehicle's fuel economy. If you'd rather not get winter tires, you should still check the tread on your existing tires. If the tread is wearing down, now is an excellent time to get a new set of tires. Prepare a Survival Kit Predicting what the weather could throw at you during the winter is impossible. A short drive that may seem a breeze under normal conditions could become a much lengthier challenge if roads get blocked or snowstorms reduce visibility. If you get stuck in a storm or are forced to wait for assistance, you should prepare a simple survival kit. The kit should include water bottles, food to keep you going for a few hours, and basic maintenance equipment for your car, such as a jack, an ice scraper, and a pair of gloves. You should also pack some warm clothing in your vehicle in case you're stranded and can't heat your car. A first-aid kit will also come in handy in case of emergencies. Test Your Battery When the temperatures drop, it gets harder for your battery to perform. That's because batteries use more energy to start an engine than under normal conditions. If your battery is already several years old and on the decline, a snap of wintry weather could be the final straw. To avoid dealing with a dead battery in winter, get your battery tested by a qualified service technician so you know what condition it's in. Batteries typically have a working life of three to four years, so if your battery is about that age, replacing it now might be your best option. Check Your Brakes You'll want to make sure your brakes are in top condition during the winter since wet or slippery surfaces will put them to the test. As you probably know from your own driving experience, it takes much longer to slow down or come to a stop on wet surfaces than on a dry road. Your brake checkup should include inspecting your pads to ensure they're not too worn and your fluids to ensure they don't need replacing or topping up. If you've been experiencing any issues with your brakes lately, now is the time to have a professional perform a thorough examination so they can put things right. Change Your Engine Oil Engine oil also behaves differently during cold weather. It tends to get thicker in cold temperatures, which can become a problem, especially if you use thicker oil under normal conditions. You should check your owner's manual to find advice on whether to switch to a thinner oil during the winter months. Even if you ultimately choose to stick with the same type of engine oil you currently have, it's well worth getting an oil change at this time of year. Oil breaks down and gets contaminated over time, reducing its ability to lubricate your engine. This is the last thing you want during cold temperatures. Get a Thorough Vehicle Inspection From a Professional Mechanic If you want to be sure that your vehicle is winter-ready heading into the colder months, you may want to have your vehicle inspected by a professional mechanic. During a multi-point inspection, our auto technicians will examine all the parts of your crossover or truck that typically require maintenance, such as brake and steering fluids, brake pads, tires, engine oil, and more. They can also identify any repairs that may be necessary to ensure that you and your vehicle go through the winter months unscathed. One critical area to ask your technician to inspect is your air conditioning. You may need to change a filter to improve its performance and keep your cabin at a comfortable temperature during the cold months. While you can put up with a short drive without heating your cabin, longer drives during winter without a heater can be problematic. We offer multi-point inspections at our Chevy service center in Paris. Our technicians can inspect your vehicle before a tune-up so that you're all set for winter. If you require any new parts or materials, our parts department can arrange that for you. We hope our guide to winterizing your Chevy has helped you make the necessary preparations for the colder months ahead. If you have any questions about our tips, don't hesitate to contact us today. Our professional service center personnel are always happy to provide their expert advice to our Kentucky customers or reserve an appointment for your vehicle at our service center.

How Do You Maintain An Electric Car

Whether you’re thinking about buying an electric car in the near future or you already own an electric vehicle or EV, you need to know what kind of maintenance owning these vehicles entails. You may have heard that electric vehicles require less maintenance than other new vehicles, and it’s true. Still, this doesn’t mean you can keep an EV running with no care at all. View New Chevrolet Bolt EV View New Chevrolet Bolt Euv Tire Rotations and Alignment 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV One of the most important types of maintenance your EV requires concerns its tires. Many drivers find that they need to rotate their tires about once per year, or every 5,000 to 8,000 miles. Rotating your tires is important because tires do not wear evenly. Not only can uneven tires impact the way your car rides but also the sound your car makes on the road. Your car benefits from spreading wear across all four tires as evenly as possible, and you benefit from not having to spend as much money on tires. Every few years, your car may require alignment services. If you ever notice that your car seems to pull to one side when you remove your hands from the steering wheel, your car may be out of alignment. Your mechanic will likely check for alignment when you have your tires rotated. It’s important that you pay close attention to the tires of your electric vehicle because EVs tend to be heavier than other vehicles. The battery adds a great deal of weight, which can wear on the tires. Pay close attention to any abnormal wear on your tires. Tire Pressure One form of maintenance you may be able to manage on your own is checking and maintaining the proper tire pressure for your vehicle. Your tires need to have the appropriate pressure because it can make your car more efficient and prevent a flat tire or blow-out on the road. While most new cars have sensors that warn drivers about tires with low pressure, it’s important to check your tires and fill them accordingly to prevent tire issues on the road. When you check your tire pressure, you should also inspect your tires for damage and tread issues. Battery Maintenance One of the biggest components of caring for your car comes down to battery maintenance. Every battery has a limit on the number of charging cycles, and some batteries require liquid coolant. You’ll want to have your battery checked out regularly to ensure that your system is safe and efficient. The coolant circuit of your car may need to be drained periodically, but this occurs less often than other types of services. The most expensive replacement any EV owner will likely make is replacing the battery of their vehicle. Battery life will lessen over time, but servicing your battery can ensure that everything is working well for as long as possible. If your battery is under warranty, you’ll likely need to have your battery serviced at scheduled intervals to ensure that your battery is still under warranty. Many people ultimately trade in their vehicles before they have to change the battery. Air Cabin Filter Replacement Your air cabin filter likely needs to be replaced every 15,000 to 30,000 miles. You should also replace your filter more often if you notice that your air conditioner isn’t working as well or if your car always seems to smell bad. Some people may replace their own air cabin filters, but a mechanic can also take care of this step. Windshield Wiper Fluid Replacement Replacing your windshield wiper fluid is one of the easiest steps you can take. Once you have wiper fluid and you know where the fluid reservoir is, you can easily add more fluid. This is also a good time to check your windshield wipers to make sure they’re still working well. If not, you should replace them as well. Brake Inspection One major factor shared between EVs and traditional gas vehicles is the need to check the brakes. Just as you may need to have your brakes replaced or repaired on a traditional car, you’ll also need to have your brakes regularly inspected if you have an EV. It’s a good idea to have your brakes inspected as often as you have your tires rotated. However, the braking system can be different for electric vehicles. They often use regenerative braking systems, which use energy from the car braking to charge the car’s battery. These systems do tend to last longer than traditional brakes, so you may not require inspections as often as you would with other cars. Light Bulb Replacement You’ll also need to replace your light bulbs regularly. Failure to do so could lead to a traffic ticket or unsafe driving, particularly at night if you have a missing headlight. Check your lights often to make sure your bulbs are still in good shape. You can check and replace your bulbs at home or take your vehicle to a shop for a quick appointment. You Can Save Money on Maintenance With an Electric Car There’s a good reason electric vehicles are less likely to need ongoing maintenance. For one, EVs don’t have all the components needing to be serviced. You don’t need an oil change every six months, and you don’t need to service your transmission or cooling system because your car doesn’t have these components. When you buy an electric car, you may pay more upfront than you would for a car that uses gas, but at the same time, you’re saving money on maintaining your vehicle. Before you purchase a new or used car, do the math, and see how much money you can save on oil changes, tune-ups, and other necessary services. Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Paris, Kentucky, knows that maintenance matters when it comes to preserving your car’s life. Check out our selection of electric vehicles to learn more about which cars are available and how you can make sure you know exactly what you’re getting into with an electric vehicle.

Chevrolet Pickup Trucks With Great Gas Mileage 2022-2023

Fuel efficiency isn’t always a top priority when purchasing a pickup truck. Often, the towing capacity and payload capabilities trump all other features, including interior design and technology, as well as fuel efficiency. Today’s trucks offer more luxury, comfort, convenience, and better fuel economy options. Here are the Chevy pickup trucks with great gas mileage for 2022-2023. 2022 Chevrolet Colorado 2022 Chevrolet Colorado View Chevrolet Colorado The 2022 Chevrolet Colorado is a midsize truck available as an extended cab with a 6.2-foot bed or a crew cab with a 5-foot or 6.2-foot bed. You can get the Colorado in four trims: WT (Work Truck), LT, Z71, and ZR2. The Colorado offers three engine options for the 2022 model year, each with a different EPA estimate for fuel efficiency. Rear-wheel drive (RWD) is standard, with an available four-wheel drive (4WD) for better traction and control over more challenging conditions and surfaces. The base engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission found in all extended cab options for the 2022 Chevrolet Colorado. This engine earns a respectable EPA-estimated rating of 25 mpg for highway driving and 19 mpg on city streets. All crew cab versions of the 2022 Chevrolet Colorado feature a 3.6-liter V-6 with an eight-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, an option for the extended cab versions. The RWD engine gets an EPA-estimated rating of 25 mpg for highway driving and 18 mpg for city driving, while the 4WD is slightly lower at 24 mpg for highway driving and 17 mpg for city driving. The LT trim and above also offer a diesel engine option in the crew cab versions. You can opt for a 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel engine with a six-speed automatic transmission. This is the most fuel-efficient engine available on the 2022 Chevy Colorado, with an EPA-estimated rating of 30 mpg for highway driving and 20 mpg on city streets for the RWD, and 28 mpg on the highway and 19 on city streets for the 4WD. It’s important to note that the off-road-ready ZR2 trim gets slightly lower ratings for the V-6 and diesel option. With the V-6, the ZR2 earns 18 mpg on the highway and 16 mpg for city driving, while the diesel gets you 22 mpg on the highway and 18 mpg for city driving. You can haul up to 7,700 pounds with the Duramax diesel option, over double the 3,500 pounds possible with the four-cylinder engine. 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 View Chevrolet Silverado 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 You can get Chevy’s full-size 2022 Silverado 1500 in nine trim levels: WT (Work Truck), Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, ZR2, LTZ, and High Country. It’s available as a two-door regular cab, four-door extended cab (Double Cab), and four-door crew cab with full-size rear doors. Three bed sizes are available depending on cab selection. These include a 5-foot-8-inch bed, a 6-foot-6-inch bed, and an 8-foot bed. The Silverado 1500 has four engine options available for 2022. Much like the Colorado, rear-wheel drive is standard, with an available four-wheel drive option. The base engine for the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is a turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine delivers 310 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. For the RWD version, you can expect an EPA-estimated rating of 22 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg on city streets. The 4WD will get you 20 mpg on the highway and 17 mpg in the city. Next is a 5.3-liter V-8 mated to either an eight- or 10-speed automatic transmission that garners 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. The EPA estimates are slightly different for the transmissions, with the 10-speed getting 21 mpg highway and 16 mpg city for the RWD and 19 mpg on the highway and 15 mpg on city streets in the 4WD. The eight-speed earns 19 mpg highway driving and 16 mpg for city driving on the RWD, with 18 mpg highway and 14 mpg city for the 4WD. You can also opt for a 6.2-liter V-8 matched with a 10-speed automatic transmission and only available as 4WD. You get 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque with this V-8. The EPA-estimated rating of 19 mpg on the highway and 14 mpg for city streets is comparable to other engines for the Silverado 1500. The most fuel-efficient engine for the 2022 Chevy Silverado 1500 is a diesel option. A 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel inline six-cylinder engine is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission to deliver 277 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. More notably, it also has 31 mpg for highway driving and 23 mpg in the city for the RWD version, and 26 mpg on the highway or 22 mpg in the city for the 4WD. The diesel engine also upgrades the towing capacity of the Silverado to 13,300 pounds. That’s 4,000 more than the 9,300-pound capability of the four-cylinder. 2023 Fuel-Efficient Chevy Truck Options The 2023 Chevy Colorado is replacing the engine options with a single turbocharged 2.7-liter inline four-cylinder that delivers 237 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque for the WT and LT models. The EPA estimates aren’t available for this engine, but Chevy predicts it to be very similar to the outgoing four-cylinder option currently available in the Colorado. The tow rating will also stay the same at 3,000 pounds. The Z71 features a turbo 2.7-liter four-cylinder that produces 310 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. You can expect a tow rating of 7,700 pounds, slightly less than the 7,000 currently available with the V-6 diesel. On the ZR2, you’ll get a 2.7-liter four-cylinder with the same horsepower but 430 lb-ft of torque. For the 2023 Silverado 1500, Chevy is upgrading the diesel option to produce 305 horsepower and 495 lb-ft of torque, slightly higher than the 2022 version. Chevy will also introduce the ZR2 Bison trim, with a 6.2-liter V-8 offering 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. How Many Electric Car Charging Stations Are There in Kentucky?

If you've recently bought or already own an electric car in Kentucky, you've probably noticed the benefits of these vehicles. They reduce your environmental impact, require less maintenance, and lower fuel costs. Even better is that due to their increasing popularity, charging stations are becoming more accessible. Kentucky is home to several convenient locations that make it easy for you to keep driving. Here at Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Paris, we're here to help you make the most of your electric vehicle by exploring how many charging stations Kentucky has. We'll also discuss some charging hotspots and elaborate on the benefits of going green versus having a traditional gasoline vehicle. View New Chevrolet Bolt EV View New Chevrolet Bolt Euv How Many Electric Car Charging Stations Does Kentucky Have? Chevy Bolt EV sulla rampa di lancio! by Automobile Italia is licensed with CC BY 2.0 According to Plug Share, there are 682 electric vehicle charging locations in Kentucky. Tools such as this one from Kentucky Clean Fuels allow you to find nearby locations that are appropriate for your vehicle. For instance, there's a filter that sorts charging stations by whether they offer Level 1, Level 2, or direct current (DC) charging. You can also look for charging stations with J11172, CCS, and CHAdeMO connectors. Plug Share notes that one of the electric vehicle-friendly counties in Kentucky is Louisville-Jefferson County, as the area is home to 314 charging stations. Other locations with significant numbers of charging stations include Lexington-Fayette, Bowling Green, and Elizabethtown-Fort Knox. More Kentucky Charging Stations To Come Thanks to the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Formula Program, even more charging stations might pop up in Kentucky within the next couple of years. The U.S. Department of Transportation might grant the state $10,280,470 of the available $5 billion NEVI budget to deploy more charging infrastructure. This plan is supposed to not only cater to the increasing presence of electric vehicles, but also foster local job growth and economic development. Level 1 vs. Level 2 vs. DC Charging Stations in Kentucky While there's no shortage of charging stations in Kentucky, it's important to go to the right ones. Not all charging stations will be compatible with your vehicle and appropriate for your situation. For instance, consider the type of charging you need for your electric car. Most drivers prefer charging stations with Level 2 charging capabilities, as they add about 25 miles of range per hour (RPH). This RPH is significantly more efficient than the average RPH of Level 1 charging, which is about four miles. Level 2 charging is ideal for fueling up at grocery stores or other establishments where you only have a short amount of time to charge your vehicle. While Level 1 charging is most common with at-home stations, it might be an appropriate option when your public options are limited. For instance, you might hook your car up to a Level 1 charging station while you're at work. These stations will be available for longer periods due to their low demand, and your presence at work will give your car the time it needs to fully charge at a Level 1 station. There's also Level 3 charging, also known as DC charging, that can fully charge your vehicle in as little as 15 to 30 minutes. This efficiency can help you when you're in a pinch, but it's important not to use it too frequently as it can put a lot of strain on your vehicle's battery. The good news is that Kentucky is home to various charging stations, so consider what kind of charging station you need and use an online tool to find the right one. Different Connectors at Charging Stations in Kentucky As you look for the right charging station, you might notice that online listings describe the types of connectors available. There are labels like CSS, J1772, and CHAdeMO, but how do you know which is compatible with your vehicle? You'll be glad to hear that most electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles in the U.S. use the CCS1. The Society of Automotive Engineers developed this standardized connector that combines the J1772 connector with two high-speed charging pins. The CCS1 is compatible with Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 charging to make your driving experience more convenient. As an experienced Chevrolet dealership, we're familiar with the importance of CCS1 stations to our customers. Whether you have a Bolt, Volt, or some other electric vehicle, you're sure to find a compatible station. There are hundreds of compatible connectors throughout Kentucky, but be sure to verify availability at a charging station before driving there. If you show up at a station that only has a CHAdeMO charger, it won't be helpful for charging your vehicle that requires a CCS1 charger. Benefits of Electric Vehicles With such a wide availability of electric car charging stations in Kentucky, you might wonder what all the buzz is about. Owning an electric vehicle comes with several benefits such as: Lower fuel costs: Some public charging stations offer free fuel, but even if you pay for your electricity, the long-term costs tend to be lower than those for traditional gasoline. Less maintenance: While electric vehicles still require routine maintenance, they have fewer complex parts and fluids that require fewer changes. Increased efficiency: The operation of an electric vehicle produces no carbon emissions that contribute to global warming. Even if you have a hybrid model, you'll still significantly reduce your carbon footprint. Smoother driving experience: The low center of gravity on most electric vehicles offers better handling and responsiveness, and the electric engine results in smoother, quiet rides. Hundreds of electric vehicle charging stations are prominent throughout Kentucky, and there are plans to create even more accessible infrastructure. Drivers can find stations that suit their vehicle's requirements and the amount of time they have to charge their vehicle. Feel free to use this guide as a reference the next time you need to fuel up in a way that allows you to fully enjoy the benefits of your electric vehicle. If you're in the market for an electric car or want to share your charging tips, feel free to contact Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Paris today.

Which Chevy Truck Should I Buy? Chevrolet Silverado or Colorado?

Choosing a new pickup truck to buy isn't always easy. There are a lot of great options on the market, and it's hard to know which one best fits your needs. Two of the most popular options are the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the Chevrolet Colorado, which at first may seem similar. However, some significant differences between the two may make one a better fit for you than the other. View Chevrolet Silverado 1500 View Chevrolet Colorado 2023 Chevrolet Silverado vs. 2023 Chevrolet Colorado 2023 Chevrolet Colorado Below, we'll detail how the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado compare against each other. Performance Let's start by looking at the performance specifications of both vehicles. Inside the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, you can get a variety of different powertrain configurations. These options include a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, two V-8 engines, and a 3.0-liter diesel engine. With the optimal configuration, you'll get around 420 horsepower. With the standard options, you can expect to get 310 horsepower. As for the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado, there is only one engine option, which is a 2.7-liter inline-four engine. However, depending on which trim level you select for the Colorado, you'll get different performance specifications. For example, the WT and LT trims produce 237 horsepower and 259 lb-ft of torque, while the Z71 trim produces 301 horsepower. The ZR2 trim produces 310 horsepower, which matches the standard option in the Silverado. Since there are many configurations available for both the Silverado and the Colorado, which one you should get depends on your needs. Generally, the Silverado provides more power due to its larger size. Fuel Efficiency Fuel efficiency is another factor that depends on which powertrain you select, as some are more efficient than others. The most fuel-efficient version of the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado is the diesel engine, which has an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rating of 23 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. At the other end of the scale, you have the 5.3-liter V-8 engine that produces 16 and 22 mpg, respectively. As for the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado, it's hard to say how fuel efficient it will be, as the EPA has not provided a rating yet. However, the 2022 Chevrolet Colorado has a fuel-efficiency rating of 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway for its 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. If Chevrolet keeps things somewhat the same for 2023, you can expect to get similar fuel efficiency. Towing and Hauling With the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, you'll get a maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds. This makes it one of the best pickup trucks for towing on the market. You can get this maximum towing capacity with both the diesel engine and the 6.2-liter V-8 engine. However, if you opt for the 5.3-liter engine, you'll still be able to tow up to 11,500 pounds, while the turbocharged four-cylinder results in a 9,500-pound limit. As for hauling, the powertrain doesn't impact things much, with the range of capabilities falling between 1,870 and 2,280 pounds. The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado has lower hauling and towing capabilities across the board. At its best, the Colorado has a maximum towing capacity of 7,700 pounds and a maximum payload of 1,684 pounds. If you're looking for the truck with the most hauling and towing capabilities, you'll want to consider the Chevrolet Silverado. However, if you don't need as much power, you can save money by going with the Chevrolet Colorado instead. Truck Bed Another important factor when determining which pickup truck to buy is the size of its bed. With the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, you can choose from different bed sizes. The smallest is 69.6 inches, while the largest is 98.4 inches. This means you have a little more flexibility in terms of which bed size best fits your needs. The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado has a bed size of 62 inches. This is smaller than even the smallest version of the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. However, it's still large enough for many people who only need the truck bed to move the occasional large item. You'll want to think about what you'll typically place inside the bed of the truck to determine how much space you need. Entertainment and Comfort Features Both the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado come with plenty of entertainment and comfort features inside. With the Silverado, you'll get an extra-spacious cabin, a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, and the ability to upgrade to leather upholstery. There's also an infotainment touchscreen that can connect to Apple and Android devices. The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado offers similar features, such as the digital gauge cluster and infotainment system. With this truck, you can also get a sunroof, which is the first Chevy model to offer this. Finally, the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado comes with wireless phone-charging capabilities and the ability to add the Google built-in feature. Safety Features The Silverado 1500 and the Colorado have similar safety features. Which ones come standard and which ones are available as an upgrade depends on the trim you select for each model. Here are some of the standard features included with both trucks: Forward collision warning Automated emergency braking Lane-keeping assist Lane departure warning. Are you in the market for a small crossover that's easy to maneuver around town and offers good fuel economy? You should check out the 2023 Encore from Buick, which has received minor updates for the 2023 model year. Our Buick experts here at Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick in Paris have put together a guide highlighting the Encore's key exterior and interior features. Feel free to contact us with any questions or to start the purchase process. View Buick Encore View Buick Encore GX 2023 Encore Engine and Performance 2023 Buick Encore By Buick.Com The 2023 Encore 's engine is the same 1.4-liter four-cylinder unit from last year's model. The engine received an overhaul for the 2022 model year to boost its output, which is now 155 horsepower compared to the 138 horsepower it previously generated. This added power will give your Encore more zip around town or on the highway. The gear changes are taken care of by a six-speed automatic transmission. In the base front-wheel-drive setup, the Encore achieves 32 mpg on the highway and 24 mpg on city roads. If you step up to all-wheel drive, those figures drop slightly to a respectable 30 mpg and 23 mpg, respectively. Buick Encore Cargo and Passenger Space The Encore's amply proportioned cabin provides plenty of space for five adult passengers to ride in comfort. If you need to install child seating, you'll find two sets of LATCH connectors on the outermost rear seats and a tether anchor on the middle seat. The standard cabin features cloth and synthetic leather upholstery. You also get power adjustments for the driver's seat and a cover for the cargo area at the rear. Behind the rear row of seats, you'll have 18.8 cubic feet of storage space. That's enough to hold a large load of groceries or luggage for a weekend camping trip. If you need to transport more oversized items, you can fold down the rear row of seats to open up 48.4 cubic feet of space. Encore Infotainment Features A 7-inch screen and six-speaker stereo lead the Encore's base infotainment system. In addition to that, you get two USB ports and Bluetooth connectivity. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide smartphone compatibility, and you can control key settings on your infotainment system with voice recognition. Another standard feature is the Wi-Fi hotspot, which allows you to stay online wherever your journey may take you. You also get proximity keyless entry to make the job of getting into your Encore that bit easier. Remote start is offered as an optional add-on. Encore Driver Safety Many of the driver safety features offered in the Encore are available as optional upgrades. The only standard safety feature is the rearview camera. You can add blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, which are extremely useful in helping you detect drivers approaching from behind. If you'd like a little help parking your crossover, consider adding the front and rear parking sensors. Avoiding accidents can be easier thanks to the forward collision warning, which alerts you to potential hazards or obstacles up ahead. Highway drivers will appreciate the lane departure warning feature to help them stay on track. And the rain-sensing windshield wipers ensure you retain good visibility whatever the weather. Buick Encore Trims and Pricing Unlike many crossovers, the Buick Encore is sold in one trim only, the Preferred. It has an MSRP of around $25,000. You can add some extras to the Preferred trim, such as the Safety Package, to gain access to blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. The Safety Package 2 includes all the other optional driver safety tech. All-wheel drive is another add-on, costing an additional $620. The big advantage with AWD is that you have more control and traction on slippery surfaces, such as during the winter or extreme weather events. What's the Difference Between the Buick Encore and Encore GX? Despite their similar names, the Encore and Encore GX are two different vehicles sold by Buick. The Encore GX is a larger vehicle, making it more attractive for buyers who require more cargo space than the Encore offers. Buying the Encore may make more sense if space is a premium where you drive and park. The Encore GX is available with two engine options: a 1.2-liter three-cylinder unit that puts out 137 horsepower and a 1.3-liter three-cylinder engine that generates 155 horsepower. The larger engine provides just as much power as the Encore's only engine option. The passenger space in both vehicles is about the same, with both Buicks offering room for five people. The Encore GX has over 23 cubic feet of storage at the rear, which is a touch more than the 18 cubic feet on offer in the Encore. Let’s take a look at the Encore GX and its several trim options. The Encore GX's three trims are Preferred, Select, and Essence. The two higher trims give you the option of the more powerful engine under the hood. The range-topping Essence trim gets an upscale cabin with genuine leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel. You also have the opportunity to add several luxury items, such as a surround-view parking camera, a navigation system, and wireless device charging. We hope that our overview of the 2023 Encore has helped you decide whether it's the right vehicle for you. Buick's smallest SUV is entering the 11th year of its first-generation model, which proves how popular this crossover continues to be. How To Order a Customized Car

Ordering a customized car may seem like an exclusive experience reserved for a select few, but it's more common than you think. More drivers are taking advantage of personalization to create the vehicle of their dreams. This approach also means you don't have to settle for a car when a dealership has limited inventory. If you're new to the world of customized cars, the ordering process might seem intimidating. Fortunately, Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Paris is here to make each step as easy as possible. Read on for tips that can help you get the exact vehicle you're looking for at a reasonable price. Choose the Right Dealership 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe While some manufacturers have found loopholes, most states have franchise laws that prohibit manufacturers from selling cars directly to consumers. Paris residents will find it easiest to place their custom order through a reputable dealership like Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Paris. The process is easy thanks to our representatives' commitment to each one of our customers. We'll help you choose the features you want and keep you updated on your order's status. Plan Ahead It's important to talk to your dealership about the timeline and when you can expect your custom car to arrive. Some orders take as little as a few weeks, while others can take several months. It all depends on the model and what type of features you request. By planning ahead, you can give yourself enough time to sell your old car and secure the appropriate financing. If you have a lease, you can try to plan your order around its end date. Alternatively, placing a custom order may allow you to extend your lease so you can have a car while you wait. Decide What You Want If you're researching how to order a customized car, it's likely you already have an idea of what you want. Do as much research as possible so you don't have to compromise on certain features. To start, you'll want to determine your ideal make and model and then review its different trim levels. You can also decide what you want in terms of performance, exterior features, technology, safety features, cargo space, and seating configurations. Of course, don't forget to pick the body color and wheels to create a uniquely personalized feel. Schedule an Appointment Once you know what you want, contact your dealership and schedule an appointment. Some people choose to order their customized cars over the phone, but an in-person consultation can facilitate better communication. The representative can walk you through every step of the process and provide recommendations based on your unique preferences and budget. Additionally, they use an order guide to ensure you don't miss any essential features. After the appointment, the representative will provide you with regular updates, so you can keep track of your order through each stage of the process. The representative serves as the point of contact with the manufacturer, meaning you won't have to deal with any issues that may arise. Don't Go Overboard When you order a custom car, you have endless possibilities, and it can be easy to get carried away. Even if you come to an appointment with a plan, the order guide might tempt you to add every feature to your new car. However, it's important that you don't go overboard. If you stick to the features you absolutely want, it will help to keep costs down. You'll thank yourself later when you eventually decide to sell the car, as excessive advanced features can make it harder to sell. Not all drivers will share your unique preferences, and features that are popular now may go out of style down the road. So, remind yourself that excessive features don't necessarily add to the resale value and that it's more important to make sure you can afford the car. Check for Deals You don't have to miss out on deals or incentives just because you're ordering a customized car. Depending on the model you order, you may be able secure special offers like rebates or lease incentives. Talk to a representative to see if you can lock in offers that are valid at the time of ordering. Or, in some cases, you may be able to take advantage of deals that become available when your car arrives. Talk to a representative at Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Paris to see what offers are available to you. Provide a Deposit After placing your order, you'll likely have to pay a deposit to the dealership. Ask your representative whether the deposit is refundable so you can plan your finances accordingly. In some cases, the dealership may reserve the right to hold your deposit if you order an unpopular configuration and then change your mind about buying it. Essentially, the deposit holds you accountable for your order and gives the dealership time to sell a hard-to-sell vehicle if you back out on your purchase. Consider a Dealer Trade When you can't find the car you want at your preferred dealership, your first thought might be to order a custom car. This solution is perfectly feasible, but considering a dealer trade can be just as practical. A dealer trade is when your preferred dealership uses powerful search tools to find an existing car that suits your unique preferences. If your dream car happens to be for sale in the area, your preferred dealership can acquire it and sell it to you. This approach allows you to shop where you're comfortable without adjusting to a new dealership. Not only that, but it might be cheaper and faster than ordering a customized vehicle. While your dream car won't always be in the vicinity, it's definitely an option worth considering. If you have your heart set on a unique car with personalized features, you can't go wrong with a custom order. Partner with a reliable dealership today by contacting Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Paris. Our representatives are ready to walk you through the process and ensure you get the exact features you want. We'll help you plan out your custom order to secure the best deals and deliver your new vehicle in a reasonable time frame.

How Electric Vehicles Save Money

If you're shopping for a car on a budget, you're probably doing a lot of research to find the best price. Glimpsing dealership websites may lead you to believe that a gas-powered vehicle is the most affordable choice. While it's true that the upfront costs of gas vehicles tend to be cheaper, it might be smart to invest in an electric model. You'll not only reduce your ecological footprint and enjoy faster acceleration rates but also see significant savings over the long run. Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Paris is here to explain how electric vehicles save money. View Chevrolet Bolt EV View Chevrolet Bolt EUV Lower Fuel Costs for Electric Vehicles 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV One of the most significant ways electric vehicles save is through fuel costs. According to one source, the average cost to operate an electric vehicle is $485 per year compared to $1,117 per year for a gas-powered vehicle. This savings of more than $600 allows you to put more money into vehicle maintenance or cover other living expenses. In addition to being more affordable, electricity tends to have more stable rates. This predictably helps drivers budget accordingly and enjoy the savings they see over the long term. Over the past 10 years, gas prices have ranged anywhere from $1.50 to $4.00 per gallon. Even when gas prices were lower, fuel prices couldn't compete with cheaper electricity rates. On average, drivers of electric vehicles have paid around $1.20 to travel the same distance that a driver of a gas-powered vehicle could travel on one gallon of gasoline. Here's an example to help you better understand the savings. Imagine that you own an electric vehicle that has an average performance of 100 miles per 30 kilowatts per hour (kWh). If the current electricity rate is $0.12 per 1 kWh, you will pay about $1.00 to travel 36 miles. Now, consider that the average performance of a gas-powered vehicle is 22 miles per gallon. If you spent the same $1.00 on gas, you would only be able to drive 18 miles. If you owned an electric vehicle, you would double your mileage while keeping fuel costs the same. Lower Fuel Costs of Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) primarily runs on battery power. Still, a PHEV features an internal combustion engine that switches on when the battery dies. Some drivers question the cost savings of a PHEV because it requires you to pay for both electricity and traditional fuel. However, it's important to note that while a PHEV uses both energy sources, it operates much more efficiently than a gas-powered vehicle. The internal combustion engine of a PHEV uses anywhere from 30% to 60% less gasoline, meaning you can save on fuel costs. Additionally, the internal combustion engine of a PHEV recharges the car's battery so you can save on electricity. Fewer Maintenance Requirements for an Electric Vehicle Anyone who's owned a gas vehicle knows how much maintenance they can require. No wonder a traditional gas-powered car can have many problems because of its sheer number of moving parts. All of the spark plugs, oil filters, radiator, transmission, and exhaust systems mean that something is bound to go wrong. Fortunately, the lack of an internal combustion engine in an all-electric vehicle means significantly less maintenance. Fewer parts to break means you don't have to spend as much on repairs. Additionally, the regenerative braking system prevalent on most electric vehicles saves the brake pads and rotors from costly replacement. Even if you get a PHEV instead of an all-electric vehicle, you'll have fewer maintenance costs because the internal combustion engine runs less. Tips for Saving With an Electric Vehicle While electric vehicles tend to cost less in the long run, you can maximize your savings with the help of these tips: Save up for a down payment. Though electric vehicles are more affordable over the long term, their upfront costs tend to be higher. To ensure you can afford the down payment and interest payments, begin by budgeting and building your savings account. Buy a more affordable model. A more affordable model will reduce your upfront costs, but it can also help you save more over the long term than if you were to buy a higher-end vehicle. Adhere to maintenance recommendations. You can avoid the need for unnecessary repairs by adhering to the manufacturer's maintenance recommendations for your model. For example, you might get tire rotations or cabin air filter replacements when the car reaches a certain number of miles. Take advantage of warranties. If something goes wrong with your electric vehicle, you might not have to pay for repair costs out of pocket. Be sure to take advantage of any valid warranties to save money. Shop around for insurance. While electric vehicles can be more expensive to insure than a gas-powered vehicle, you can save by shopping around. Certain providers offer discounts if you drive an all-electric or hybrid vehicle. Take advantage of tax credits. If you buy a new electric or hybrid vehicle, you can enjoy a federal tax credit of up to $7,500. States also have rebate programs that encourage drivers to go electric. Save through your utility company. Drivers who fuel up at home can save through their utility companies. Check your utility provider for programs to get per kWh discounts or reduced rates for charging your vehicle during off-peak hours. Generate your own electricity. You can lower fuel costs and reduce your ecological footprint by generating your own electricity. Solar panels allow you to harness the sun's energy and may also make you eligible for additional tax credits. Despite their higher upfront costs, electric vehicles are a wise investment for those looking to save in the long run. You'll spend less on fuel and maintenance while enjoying improved efficiency and faster acceleration. Contact Dan Cummins Chevrolet Buick of Paris today if you're ready to start shopping for your dream electric vehicle.
