The Chevy Silverado 2500 HD sells in five trims for the 2022 model year: Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country. The MSRP for the base Work Truck trim is $44,195.

The Custom trim starts at $45,995.

The next step up the trim ladder is the Silverado 2500 HD LT, which starts at $47,695. The starting price will increase if you opt for four-wheel drive instead of the standard rear-wheel drive.

The LTZ starts at $55,795, while the range-topping High Country gets going at $64,795.

How this truck’s interior looks depends significantly on the cab choice you make. You can either go with the regular, double, or crew cab. The Regular cab is ideal if you prioritize functionality for the job site. It seats up to three people in a single row.

The optional upgrade under the hood is a 6.6-liter V-8 diesel engine. It makes 445 horsepower and a remarkable 910 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic transmission completes the diesel power train. The diesel is offered with rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive as the gas engine. The diesel engine is likely your best choice if you regularly haul heavy loads.

The towing capacity of the 2022 Silverado 2500 HD is 18,500 pounds. You get this with the optional diesel engine. This Chevy manages to pull a still-impressive 17,370 pounds with the gas unit under the hood.

If you plan on hauling heavy loads in your cargo box rather than towing, the gas engine provides you with more hauling capability. With the gas engine and long cargo bed, the 2500 HD can haul loads of up to 3,979 pounds. The diesel’s upper hauling limit isn’t far behind at 3,715 pounds.
